How to Use VERAMYST Nasal Spray
A unique spray device
VERAMYST treats allergy symptoms with a gentle fine mist that is scent-free.
For people aged 12 years and older, the usual starting dosage is 2 sprays in each nostril, once a day. After you begin to feel better, your healthcare provider may tell you that 1 spray in each nostril once a day may be enough for you.
For children aged 2 to 11 years, the usual starting dosage is 1 spray in each nostril, once a day. Your healthcare provider may tell children to take 2 sprays in each nostril once a day. After your child begins to feel better, your healthcare provider may change the dosage to 1 spray in each nostril once a day. An adult should help a young child use this medicine.
Priming your VERAMYST Nasal Spray
You need to prime your bottle of VERAMYST Nasal Spray before using it for the first time, not every time.

1. With the cap on, shake the device well. 2.Take the cap off by squeezing the finger grips and pulling it straight off. Do not press the button while you take off the cap. |

3. Hold the bottle with the nozzle pointing up and away from you. Place your thumb on the button. Then firmly press and release the button 6 times or until a fine mist is sprayed from the nozzle. |
You ONLY need to reprime your bottle of VERAMYST Nasal Spray if:
- Device has not been used for 30 days or more.
- Cap has been left off the bottle for 5 days or longer
How to use VERAMYST Nasal Spray
Follow the instructions below. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Before taking a dose of VERAMYST Nasal Spray, gently blow your nose to clear your nostrils. Shake VERAMYST Nasal Spray before each use. Then do these 3 simple steps: Place, Press, Repeat.

1. PLACE – Tilt your head forward a little bit. Hold the device upright. PLACE the nozzle in one of your nostrils. Point the end of the nozzle toward the side of your nose, away from the center of your nose (septum). This helps get the medicine to the right part of your nose. |

2. PRESS – Firmly PRESS the button 1 time to spray the medicine in your nose while you are breathing in. Do not get any spray in your eyes. If you do, rinse your eyes well with water. Take the nozzle out of your nose. Breathe out through your mouth. |

3. REPEAT – To deliver the medicine to the other nostril, REPEAT Steps 1 and 2 in the other nostril. If your doctor has told you to take 2 sprays in each nostril, do Steps 1-3 again. Put the cap back on the device after you have finished taking your dose. |
DO...
- Spray in the nose ONLY.
- Use once daily for best results.
- Take VERAMYST exactly as your doctor tells you. If VERAMYST is prescribed for a child, an adult should help administer VERAMYST.
DON'T...
- Do not get any spray in your eyes. If you do, rinse your eyes well with water.
- Do not spray into your mouth.
- Do not change the dose or stop usage before talking to your doctor.
- Do not give this medicine to someone else.
